Anchor Line Poster

Anchor Line Poster In 1912 it was unusual for Ulster emigrants to North America to leave from Queenstown. There were regular sailings from closer ports of Belfast and Londonderry with companies such as Anchor Line and Allan Line.

Thomas, a Worshipful Master of the Drumlough Loyal Orange Lodge, Rathfriland, County Down, was going on Titanic to join his brother who worked on a ranch in Canada. His nephew brought him part of the way to Queenstown by wagon.
